Papua New Guinea may still be heavily influenced by its traditional culture, but increasingly women are stepping beyond their customary roles and into the public spotlight.

Today marks International Women’s Day 2019, a global celebration of women’s social, political, and cultural achievements from the past and present, and a push for progress for future generations. Papua New Guinea is embracing positions for women in social justice, politics and business alike, here’s an insight into just some of the many inspirational women of PNG.
